purpose. This gathering is called a unity walk. This gathering represents that everyone, no

This photo was taken from the Shreveport, LA Community Development website. Shelter grants

 

are in place to help those who have been temporarily displaced from their homes. For example,

 

if a family has no home to go to, this grant is in place to help the family get back on their feet.

 

The more people that have places to live along with jobs become more stable. The more

 

stability, the more the community will thrive.

Environmental justice is the equitable treatment and meaningful participation of all people in

 

the creation, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and

 

policies, regardless of their race, color, country origin, or level of income.

There was not much to see as it relates to environmental justice in Shreveport. However, this

 

picture was taken back in 2019 at the Shreveport Climate Justice Rally. This represents

 

environmental justice because it shows that our children care about the environment and the

 

air that they breathe. It is saying that the factories and companies that are polluting the air

 

should be stopped because they are causing health problems among our youth and their

 

families.
