ELLs are not always able to communicate strategies that have and have not worked in the classroom. When stakeholders collaborate, they can share resources and strategies that have been effective for their ELLs, making a positive effect on the school community.

You have been asked by your principal to facilitate a professional development session during a staff meeting in your school. The goal of the session is to increase collaboration among various stakeholders (educators and school staff) for improved ELL achievement.

Create a 12-15 slide digital presentation that addresses the following:

Rationale why stakeholder collaboration benefits ELLs’ achievement.

Description of the challenges and obstacles when collaborating among stakeholders.

Description of 9-12 resources and strategies to collaborate with other educators, school staff, and families to support ELLs’ learning of language and literacies in the content areas. Provide 3-4 resources and strategies for each group of stakeholders with at least one of those resources or strategies utilizing technology.

Presenter’s notes are required for each content slide. Presentation must include a title slide at the beginning, and a reference slide with documentation of resources at the end. The title slide and reference slide do not count in the total number of slides.

The digital presentation should include graphics that are relevant to the content, visually appealing, and use space appropriately.
